...to the official website of the University of Connecticut Running Club. The club was founded in 2005 by a group of students looking to organize a club to serve the interests of retired high school athletes and other runners in the University community. Today, the club's goal is to promote healthy lifestyles both at UCONN and also throughout the State of Connecticut. Thank you for visiting, and we hope to see you out running!"

RunUC Begins New Season
The fall cross country season has begun! RunUC had its pre-season informational meeting on Sunday, September 13. Interested runners filled out forms and paid dues. If you couldn't make it, come to a practice (see schedule to right) and talk to our president Brian or one of the other officers.

Important points:
 - Practices begin Monday, September 14. Practices are not mandatory, but you are highly encouraged to come. We try to accomodate as many people as possible for races, but if we have limited spots available, those who regularly attend practice may be given priority.
 - All runners must fill out 3 forms - Club Sports Player Conduct Agreement, Health and Emergency Contact Info, and Release of Liability Waiver
 - Dues must be paid as soon as possible and are $25 for new runners, and $20 for returning runners. RunUC t-shirts will be handed out after you've paid your dues. Dues are collected once per semester.
 - Our first NIRCA intercollegiate meet will be in Princeton, NJ on October 3: 5K for both guys and girls. The NIRCA Northeast Regional Meet will be held at UConn on October 24: 8K for guys, 6K for girls.
 - We plan to participate in several road races throughout the semester for those not interested in intercollegiate competition. Details to come.

RunUC Sweeps Fun Run
Once again, RunUC had an excellent showing at the annual UConn Club Sports Fun Run. We managed to take most of the top few places in the race. We were also proud to once again be a sponsor of this event, and even got our logo on the race t-shirt.

Thinking of Joining RunUC?
RunUC is UConn's competitive and recreational running club.

This semester, we already have several intercollegiate track meets planned, including meets in Virginia, Michigan, and right here at UConn. If you're not in it for racing, you can still come to our runs and workouts to meet other runners and join in the fun.

If you're interested in RunUC, show up at one of our practices (see the schedule to the right). You should also send an email to huskyrunuc@yahoo.com and ask to be put on our mailing list.
